The guard is nickel silver and the ferrule is sterling silver. What makes this unique is the handle is made from an ancient harpoon that was discarded by an Inuit Indian when tip was damaged in Alaska centuries ago. It is Walrus Ivory that had fossilized. Dug out of the ground on private native lands and this is how it came out of the ground except I have polished it. Fossil Walrus can only be mailed in the USA and not to any other country.
