Here is a fighter in ancient fossil walrus ivory that was a harpoon (hole in bottom to hold the spear). The ivory was collected by native Alaskan Inuit indians on private native land in St. Lawrence Island, Alaska. Est. age is est. 2000 years old. Blade length is 9 1/2 inches and overall is 15 1/8 inches. Sterling ferrule and nickel silver fittings my Ladder pattern Damascus made with 1084 steel and 15n20. It is razor sharp and a wicked point. Shown Black Walnut stand. The handle is solid and out of the ground for 18 months and the end is how I got it, except I polished it.

This Bowie has about 5 ounces of sterling silver such as the guard and pieces on the handle which is India Sambar stag. It has a 9 inch blade and is 15 1/8 inches over all. I made the steel out of Ball bearings and 4800KC steel to create the pattern in the blade. A fun one to build.

Warthog Tusk Damascus

This has a warthog tusk with decorated sterling silver ferrule and buttcap. Guard is nickel silver. My Damascus with a blade that measures 9 1/2 inches and overall is 15 inches from tip to end (not along the curve). Long clip on blade. Steel is fine grain 1084 from Aldo and 15n20. Is 1/4″ thick at guard with a taper to tip. Blade has a Spanish notch.

The blade is my Damascus and overall length of this one is 7 inches. The guard is nickel silver and the ferrule is sterling silver. What makes this unique is the handle is made from an ancient harpoon that was discarded by an Inuit Indian when tip was damaged in Alaska centuries ago. It is Walrus Ivory that had fossilized. Dug out of the ground on private native lands and this is how it came out of the ground except I have polished it. Fossil Walrus can only be mailed in the USA and not to any other country.
